Touching Da Nang’s Identity: A Journey Through Craft Villages and Living Stories

09/06/2026
As part of the “Return to Origin” campaign, Touching Identity opens the door to the authentic cultural life of Quang Nam. More than a sightseeing experience, it is a journey that connects visitors with the land, traditional crafts, and the people who continue to preserve the soul of their homeland across generations.

Within the “Return to Origin” journey, while "Touching Tranquility" helps travelers rediscover inner balance, "Touching Identity" offers a different path- a journey into the authentic cultural life of the region.

These are not simply destinations, but craft villages, farming communities, and rural landscapes where stories of people, memories, and traditional occupations continue to unfold every day. Here, visitors do not merely observe - they truly experience and feel.

When Rural Life Becomes a Living Experience

One of the closest ways to connect with local identity is through agricultural life.

At Tra Que Vegetable Village and Thanh Dong Organic Village, visitors can step into the role of a farmer- planting vegetables, tending the soil, harvesting crops, and joining cooking classes featuring local specialties such as Vietnamese pancakes (banh xeo), fresh salads, and traditional herb-based dishes.

Places such as Caman Village offer the peaceful rhythm of countryside living, where every experience is closely connected to nature and local daily life.

Here, simple activities such as sowing seeds, preparing meals, or sharing conversations with local residents become meaningful parts of a journey of connection.

When Craft Villages Tell Their Own Stories

The Touching Identity experience also guides visitors through traditional craft villages.

From Tâboo Bamboo Workshop and Kim Bong Carpentry Village to Hoi An’s lantern-making craft and Thanh Ha Pottery Village, each destination carries its own story of craftsmanship and heritage passed down through generations.

Visitors can take part directly in the creative process, from bamboo crafting and wood carving to pottery making and lantern creation, discovering that the value of handmade products lies not only in the finished piece but also in the story behind it.

Stories Along the River and Coastal Fishing Villages

Da Nang’s identity is also deeply connected to river life and maritime traditions.

At Bay Mau Coconut Forest, visitors can experience basket boat rides and learn about traditional fishing methods. In Cam Nam Fishing Village and Nam O Fish Sauce Village, stories of the sea, fishing seasons, and traditional occupations continue to be preserved from one generation to the next.

When Agriculture Becomes a Creative Experience

Emerging agricultural models such as An Farm Hoi An and Cam Ha Kumquat Garden offer a more contemporary approach, combining agriculture, wellness, and experiential tourism.

Here, visitors can learn cooking techniques, prepare herbal teas, and discover nature-based products, gaining a fresh perspective on the value of local resources and traditions.

When Travel Becomes a Meeting with Identity

What makes Touching Identity special is not any single destination, but the way individual experiences come together to form a complete journey.

A day may begin in a vegetable garden, continue through traditional craft villages, and conclude with a local meal. Each stop tells a story and when those stories come together, visitors realize that:

Identity is not something displayed in an exhibition; it exists within everyday life itself.
