Held in the elegant setting of the International Convention Palace (ICP) at Furama Resort Da Nang, the 1st DECA Congress for the 2026–2030 term officially took place, marking a significant milestone for Da Nang’s tourism, events, and MICE sectors.

The program began with the Da Nang Hotel & Events Industry Connectivity Forum 2026, providing a platform for knowledge sharing and practical insights from leading experts.
Vietnam Tourism Outlook 2026 Through the Perspective of Expert Dang Manh Phuoc
Mr. Dang Manh Phuoc, Co-Founder and Director of The Outbox Company, a pioneering tourism market research firm in Vietnam, presented the topic: “VIETNAM TOURISM OUTLOOK 2026: From Remarkable Recovery to Sustainable Growth”.

Continuing the forum, Mr. Olivier Messmer, Team Leader of the ST4SD Project (an international cooperation initiative supported by the Swiss Government), delivered a presentation on: “Enhancing Management and Leadership Capabilities in the Hospitality Industry”.

Known for its contributions to sustainable development, the ST4SD Project focuses on improving industry standards and workforce capabilities. Mr. Olivier highlighted:
- Modern Leadership Mindset: Shifting from command-and-control management to inspirational leadership.
- Building Effective Teams: Strategies for retaining talent in an industry characterized by high employee turnover.
- Swiss Standards in Vietnam: Strengthening management capabilities to compete effectively with international destinations such as Bali and Phuket.

The most significant moment of the first session was the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony held on the prestigious stage of the Furama International Convention Palace (ICP). The signing was regarded as a “strategic handshake” between three key stakeholders: the Da Nang Hotel Association (DHA), representing the city’s accommodation infrastructure; the Da Nang Event Destination Association (DECA), representing destination promotion and event management capabilities; and Outbox Company, representing market intelligence and industry data.

The partnership is expected to create a strong collaborative platform that enables the sharing of customer resources, improves service quality consistency, and facilitates joint international marketing campaigns to reinforce the position of “Da Nang – The City of Events”.
Official DECA Congress – Establishing the Leadership Team for the 2026–2030 Term
Following a networking tea break at the ICP lobby, the Congress entered its most important agenda session.
The Interim Executive Committee presented its five-year strategic direction, focusing on key objectives including:
- Digitalization of member data.
- Development of an integrated MICE supply chain.
- Organization of international fam trips.
Election of the Executive Committee and Adoption of the Congress Resolution
With a spirit of professionalism, transparency, and objectivity, delegates proceeded with the election of the DECA Executive Committee for the 2026–2030 term. Industry leaders and influential professionals from the events and hospitality sectors were elected to lead DECA into its next chapter.
As a result, the Congress elected 19 official members to serve on the Executive Committee for the new term.

Immediately afterward, during its first meeting, the Executive Committee elected and introduced the Standing Committee, consisting of nine key leadership members.
