MM MEGA MARKET VIETNAM OPENS MM SUPERCENTER DA NANG SHOPPING CENTER – A TURNING POINT IN ITS SUSTAINABLE AND MODERN DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY IN VIETNAM

MM Mega Market Vietnam Co., Ltd. (MMVN) officially opened MM Supercenter Da Nang Shopping Center, MM Mega Market's first shopping mall project in Vietnam.

Located in Hoa Khanh ward, on a nearly 20,000 m² plot of land, MM Supercenter Da Nang, with an investment of US$20 million, is one of the key projects in MMVN's expansion strategy in the Vietnamese market.

The building comprises three above-ground floors, bringing together nearly 50 domestic and international brands such as CGV Cinema, Highlands Coffee, Phuc Long, Thai Siam Kitchen, Jollibee, Lotteria, Fahasa Bookstore, Guardian, Oh!Some, Mr. DIY… combined with a hypermarket, food court, and entertainment area spanning thousands of m², offering an "all-in-one" experience for local customers and tourists.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan – Chief Executive Officer of MM Mega Market Vietnam, shared:

“This event marks an important milestone for MM Mega Market Vietnam in our more than 20-year journey of growth alongside the country, as we officially expand our business model from a wholesale–retail chain to the development of a multifunctional commercial center integrating shopping, dining, services, and entertainment.

The project also reflects our long-term vision of enhancing customer experience, stimulating domestic consumption, and making meaningful contributions to Da Nang’s socio-economic development. We are committed to developing MM Supercenter Da Nang into a modern destination that is friendly to both consumers and the environment, while creating sustainable economic value for the region.”

Representing the Da Nang local government, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, stated:

“This project is of great significance, as it not only adds a modern shopping and service destination for the people of Da Nang, but also contributes to the development of the retail sector, enhances convenience and quality of living, and meets the growing needs of the city’s residents. In particular, it serves as a driving force for socio-economic development in Hoa Khanh Ward, an area undergoing strong transformation with numerous key infrastructure projects.”

With its strategic location at the northwestern gateway of the city, MM Supercenter Da Nang is also positioned to become MMVN’s key distribution hub in the Central region, helping to shorten logistics routes, optimize transportation costs, and strengthen regional supply chain connectivity.

The "Green - Digital - Sustainable" Development Strategy

MM Supercenter Da Nang is a symbol of the green economy and comprehensive digitalization strategy that MM Mega Market is pursuing in Vietnam.

Specifically, the building is designed to meet the EDGE Advanced (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) green building standard, recognized by IFC – a member of the World Bank Group. It is a pioneer in applying energy-saving, emission-reduction, and operational optimization solutions, including smart lighting systems, water-saving equipment, advanced insulation materials, and automated energy management technology. These solutions significantly reduce electricity and water consumption and carbon emissions from materials.

Simultaneously, MMVN is implementing a comprehensive digital transformation at the center, with solutions such as a cashless payment system, real-time customer data management, and the MM Click & Get online shopping platform.

These improvements enhance operational efficiency, optimize user experience, and contribute to realizing MMVN's "Greening - Digitalization - Sustainability" vision across the entire system.

Supporting Vietnamese Products and Local Communities

MM Supercenter Da Nang affirms its deep commitment to the local community and the development of a sustainable supply chain for Vietnamese products. Upholding its commitment to "Supporting the Sustainable Development of Vietnamese Products," over 90% of the products at the Supercenter originate from Vietnam, contributing to the consumption of local products and boosting the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.

In particular, the OCOP and Local Specialty Products area showcases over 100 products, strategically placed in a central location and attractively displayed to promote them to customers and international tourists.

Previously, MMVN representatives signed cooperation agreements with the People's Committees of Hoa Khanh and Hai Van wards to bring OCOP products and local specialties into modern distribution systems.

Besides promoting the development of commercial and service infrastructure, the project also creates job opportunities for nearly 500 local workers and provides new impetus for the retail economy in Central Vietnam, an area experiencing rapid urbanization and increasing consumer demand.

Furthermore, at the opening event, MMVN, along with member companies of the TCC/BJC Group in Vietnam and contractor partners, donated VND 425,000,000 to the Da Nang City People's Committee to support people affected by natural disasters in the locality. This action demonstrates the spirit of "Joining hands for the community" and a commitment to supporting the locality not only in economic development but also in social welfare activities.
