To commemorate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), Da Nang city is bustling with many unique cultural activities aimed at honoring heritage values and continuing the flow of national culture.

Alongside the program “My Son Legendary Night” held at the My Son Sanctuary, the Da Nang Cultural Heritage Festival 2025 will take place across three venues of the Da Nang Museum, together with the themed exhibition “National Treasures – Heritage at the Heart of Da Nang” at the Museum of Cham Sculpture. This series of events celebrates the 26th anniversary of Hoi An Ancient Town being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site (December 4, 1999 – 2025) and the 8th anniversary of Central Vietnam’s Bai Choi Art being inscribed as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (December 7, 2017 – 2025), promising to offer both the community and visitors a rich, multi-layered journey of heritage exploration.

Within the framework of the festival, visitors can experience Japanese cultural activities at the Japanese Cultural Exhibition House from November 23 to December 4; enjoy a photographic exhibition of heritage documentary rubbings of stone inscriptions in Hoi An at 27 Le Loi Street; and explore two newly published cultural works, “Hoi An Gazetteer – The Natural Environment Volume” and “Architectural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town”, at 10B Tran Hung Dao Street.

In addition, the “For the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town 2025” Cross-Country Race will be held at Hoi An Park on the morning of November 30, in conjunction with the official recognition ceremony of the Faifo Prison Historical Site as a city-level heritage site, along with a related documentary exhibition. Visitors may also join the themed tour “Experiential Journey – Touching the Heritage”, which connects key museums and exhibition spaces within the ancient town, offering a comprehensive perspective on Hoi An’s historical and cultural evolution across multiple layers of time.

Notably, on December 4, free admission to the Hoi An Ancient Town will be offered, creating an opportunity for residents and visitors to explore the beauty of the heritage site in a festive and colorful atmosphere. The event series will conclude with the commemorative exchange program “Hoi An Bai Choi Art – The Process of Preservation and Promotion” at the intersection of Nguyen Thai Hoc and Bach Dang streets, promising an emotionally rich performance imbued with traditional spirit in the heart of the ancient town.

The diverse and distinctive activities during this year's anniversary celebrations not only spread pride in the heritage but also create opportunities for locals and tourists to better experience the rhythm of life in a land that preserves the past and is constantly innovating. In this context, Hoi An continues to affirm its appeal as an unmissable destination.
